I am an accommodations snob. There, I said it. I always try to book great accommodations at a reasonable rate. So when I learned that I was staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Temecula, courtesy of Visit Temecula Valley, for a wine-tasting excursion with my dad for Father’s Day, I was hopeful—yet admittedly, a bit nervous—about whether the property would meet my typically high expectations.
It far exceeded them.
As we entered the hotel lobby and then our suite, I could immediately see why the Hampton Inn & Suites Temecula is so highly rated on TripAdvisor and other review sites. It really was a fantastic property that was perfect for our wine tasting weekend.
The Location
The Hampton Inn has a perfect location in Temecula. It is located right off of the freeway, so you truly cannot miss it. But is also along the major road that leads right to the Temecula Valley wine region. We were able to drive a straight shot, 15 minutes and be in wine country. It is also just across the freeway from a huge shopping plaza with stores, pharmacies (in case you forgot anything), and restaurants, making it a super convenient to your necessities.
But additionally, the Hampton Inn is the closest hotel to Old Town Temecula. It is a literal 10-minute walk or 2-minute from the entrance of Old Town, where there are numerous restaurants, bars, and shops along the main drag. We really enjoyed the convenience of the location, and how easy it was to navigate to various areas of Temecula from the hotel.
The Suite
When we arrived at our suite, we were shocked at how spacious it was. The room was absolutely huge! There was room enough for two queen beds, a desk with chair, a sitting area with a couch and two other chairs and a coffee table, a kitchenette, and a large bathroom. All of this with free space and room to spare. We were already impressed by the size of the room and the first impression it gave.
The appointments were quite upscale as well. Granite countertops were featured in the kitchenette, which had a sink, microwave, refrigerator, a coffee and tea station, and even a dishwasher.
The living room area, as you can see, was quite spacious with a couch, a single seating couch, and another chair, along with a coffee table and end tables. There was also a desk area for those who needed to knock out some work on their trip.
The bathroom also had granite countertops and lovely tile floors. It was clean with great appointments, like the large vanity, all while making great use of space.
But one of the highlights of the room were the super comfy beds. They were absolutely lovely. As soon as you lay down, you sink into the beds with their plush pillows. The bed definitely facilitated a great night’s sleep and were perfect for crashing after a day of wine tasting and fun.
Bonus
As an added bonus, the Hampton Inn & Suites Temecula also offers daily breakfast in their upscale lobby dining area. They also make sure you are hydrated with bottles of water.
But one of the key values was the front desk staff. One young lady in particular, who grew up in Temecula, was able to offer us valuable insights into which wineries to choose (beyond the ones that the lovely Visit Temecula Valley set up for us), based upon our tastes in wine. She was extremely knowledgeable about which wineries specialized in which varietals of wine, and also great eats to try in Old Town. Given that the trip was planned the same day we arrived, the front desk staff’s assistance was invaluable.
Hampton Inn Temecula
All in all, the Hampton Inn & Suites Temecula far exceeded our expectations. It is perfect for a quick weekend getaway for wine tasting, but also extended business travel with the kitchenette and large suite. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Temecula.
